S03E12 - Planet - The Great Climate Spending Paradox: When Actions don’t match words
We pull out all stops and reveal facts that should make us shiver:
G7 nations spend $147 billion on clean energy while at least USD 200 billion in fossil fuel subsidies. Germany spent €20 billion on climate transformation in 2024, while its subsidies benefiting the fossil fuel industry included various tax reliefs and exemptions, totalling roughly 1.9% of economic output, equivalent to $70 billion annually. Norway funds green tech with oil money, and is being applauded for it. China outmanoeuvres the West in renewable manufacturing...and we go on and on.
In this episode, we share why we must break free from policy paralysis. 'The Great Climate Spending Paradox' is a must-listen for all business leaders who need to understand where the real climate action should happen.
